Twitter has enhanced my learning as i can read information easily. Since the post are so short, the information is minimal but precise and to the point. I do not have to read a wall of text to find what i'm looking for.
b.How can you use Twitter and Blogspot for research purposes?
Yes i think both twitter and blogspot can be used for research.
Information on Twitter could be less informative compared to blogspot. In twitter people must adhere to the 140 character word limit. But in blogspot, there is no word limit and your post can be as long or short as you want.

Tutorian 5&6 blog reflections
1.What is the significant learning experience for your group?
We learnt that you can post, help people edit their work. We felt however that is was difficult to use and using a discussion forum would be easier.
2.As an individual contributor, what have you gained from this experience?
I have learnt that everyone can contribute. I have also am able to edit others people's work if they were to make a mistake
3.What is the one most challenging experience you had?
It is posting my work and not having it being edited or removed by other people.
4.What advice would you give to the next batch wiki groups as they start a similar project?
I would suggest that students think through what they are going to write on the wiki page before posting. also i would recommend that they do not delete post done by people without consenting people as they may have worked very hard on it.
5.Would you use Wiki for research in your own Diplomas? Why?
No. i do not think that all the information posted by people is accurate and can be trusted. However there may be some info posted by people that is not available on any other sites.

1.How do you feel about posting your views on the topic posted on OLE Online Discussion Forum? Can you express your views freely?
I feel there is pros and cons to posting views on the topic posted. I feel i can express my views freely to a certain extent. I can give my input and i can see my other classmates opinions. I feel i can learn alot from other people and i will be able to know their views on a certain subject.
2.How does this online discussion experience compared with traditional face-to-face in-class discussions?
I feel that people can be more open as they may be shy when doing face to face in class discussions. This way they people can give input and cooperate more efficiently. I think that this method could be used more often in the future especially when you must discuss a subject with people you do not know well.
3.Do you find this online activity meaningful? Why?
Yes i learnt that this method is efficient and useful.
I may use this method to discuss with my group mates in the future as we may not have time to meet up to do project work.

Practical 10 blog reflections
1. Using your favourite metaphor, describe the most important lesson that you had learnt in your EIR journey.
My favourite methaphor i've learnt is "the cake is a lie". This saying has become very popular in discussion forums
especially youtube. This saying is actually popularized by a video game called "portal". what it means is that the reward for your hardwork will not be rewarded as promised and giving a reward was never intended in the first place. What i have learnt from this is that i should never expect something from helping people on forums and help sites even though they promise something in return for helping them. I've learnt to just try my best to help people though i may not get rewarded, credited or even thanked by people.
2. Write a paragraph summarizing your findings on your research topic.
I've found out a lot relating information to cancer research. I never knew so many people had to work together just to research on one type of cancer. I have read it takes years to come out with a vaccine or drug. It is extremely meticulous and tedious work. I also read that there are many different branches doing research on a different type of cancer and each branch has its own dedicated team of scientist and medical professionals. I have read that everyday people are making strides in the field of cancer research.

Dream vacation
My dream vacation would be to go to Geneva Switzerland.
The main reason for going there is to ski.
I have never skied before and i have always wanted to.
A very famous ski location is St. Jean d'Aulps, During the winter, the village offers 34 km of downhill ski slopes. It has been said that St. Jean d'Aulps is one of the greatest ski locations in the world. 20 kms 20 slopes : 4 green runs, 5 blue runs, 10 red runs, 1 black run 14 ski lifts : 1 gondola, 3 chairlifts, 10 drag lifts. It is currently the largest ski area in the world. It is along a total of 14 ski resorts.
I think that the view will be definitely breathtaking. By looking at this pictures i can only imagine what a majestic site the alps must be like when your actually there.
Another reason i want to go there is because of the snow. I would love a change from singapore's weather. Even if i get frost bite on all my toes i think it will be worth it and it will be an experience i will cherish forever.
Practical 7 Reflection
a. Which criteria did you use to evaluate Stomp.com? Why did you choose this criteria? What lessons have you learnt from this activity?
Purpose: To provide news to the community. Not any news. Local news that tells us about the eccentricities of Singapore. Alot of the news is directed at youths as this is the kind of news that is interesting to them. Some of which are molesting cases, fights etc
Accessibility: The site is accessible to everyone wanted to read about the latest gossip. However i think that the site should not be able to accessed by young kids as some of the pictures or videos contain explicit language and sexually explicit content. Even though the site is moderated, some content is not meant for children
Currency: The website is very current. The latest happenings are posted here. People are also constantly talking in forums about the latest happenings.
b. How do you feel about sharing your views through Wiki?
I think its a great way to share my views. People can read it. However people may edit my posts and remove them from the web without my permission. This can be annoying as sometimes i may spend alot of time and effort on a post.

Search engines and meta search engines are very convenient. Furthermore i couldnt find anything relating to my topic on the invisible web databases.
Search engines are easier to use and seem to have a wider array of information.
I feel that databases are only useful for storing, managing and retrieving information. These sources may also be more reliable than search engines.
